Although there are a number of other options at the waterline of a pool, tile still retains its number one status in popularity at the water line of a pool. It is also used frequently as patio trim, due to its longevity, low maintenance and finished appearance.

Clients often select colors to match architectural features of their homes, or use one or more tile mosaics to create a fun, playful environment for children of all ages.

We have tile murals and mosaics in the form of seashells, starfish, dolphins, whales, seals, fish, turtles or many other popular designs. You can even customize a mosaic if you so desire.

Interior Finishes

California Backyard Pools & Spas offers a variety of interior finishes for your pool project, each of which has its own unique advantages. There are a number of products offered in the Sacramento marketplace that are similar to others. Plaster

Plaster is the standard pool finish included with most competitor’s basic pool packages. Traditional plaster mixes are white cement and marble sand. These mixes are susceptible to water chemistry fluctuations and mechanical wear. Over time, you may need to clean your plaster and potentially replace it depending on the length of time you own your home. Color additives such as “Tahoe Blue” color have been very popular in previous years. Some clients like the softer, smoother feel you can achieve with plaster over other products. However, it is important to point out that it will only get that way with very frequent brushing during the curing stages of the plaster (2-3 weeks).

3M Splash Interior

Mineral additives, unique polymer modifiers, enhanced color dyes, and combined with a 30% Quartz mix, makes 3M Splash a much stronger product than standard plaster. It boosts an increase resistance to chemical deterioration with more consistent coloring and staying power usually not found in basic plaster application. 3M Splash has a smoother surface most clients love with brilliant color quartz crystals imbedded in the materials surface for enhanced beauty. This upgraded colored interior is Standard on all base packages offered by CBY Pools. Although upgraded, this interior still requires frequent (2-3 weeks) brushing to develop a very smooth interior finish.

Pebble Interiors

Pebble Pool Interiors are quickly becoming the gold standard for most upscale pool projects. Pebble chosen for their natural color and consistency are imported from around the world for pebble interiors. These pebbles are mixed with special additives to create a finish which allows a multitude of design possibilities and enhances the color of the water. Pebble pools have become very popular due to their beautiful natural looks with enhanced colors, as well as their durability and low maintenance. Pebble pools need not be brushed nearly as often as other products, and they are much less susceptible to staining. In many California neighborhoods, oaks and other leaves can easily stain and cause issues for plaster pools. These pebble pools surfaces properly maintained should last at least 2-3 times longer than a traditional plaster pool.
